Project Overview
The Kerman Cable Car project was proposed in 2013 at the request of the Kerman Municipality, with investment and contracting by Ziba Sazeh Toos Gam Company, aiming to attract tourists and expand tourism in the city of Kerman.
The feasibility studies, route planning, and station design were carried out by Telecabin Iran Company and were approved by the City Council and other relevant authorities. Civil construction began, and the manufacturing of the cable car equipment commenced at the Leitner Italy factory in 2015.
Due to the imposition of sanctions and the prevention of the presence of foreign supervisors and experts from the equipment manufacturer, as well as the withholding of control panel passwords, Iran Telecabin Company undertook the construction of control panels (PLC).
ITC installed and commissioned the Kerman cable car line and, upon receiving certification from the Standard Organization in March 2024, the most modern and newest cable car in Pardisan Park, Kerman,and began its operation with enthusiastic welcome and an unprecedented number of visitors. It has been operated and maintained by Telecabin Iran Company without any technical issues and is available for public use.
This cable car is hydraulic and has two stations. The origin station is located at an altitude of 1772 meters above sea level, and the destination station is at an altitude of 1976 meters above sea level.
The Misagh-e-Melal Kerman cable car has 18 eight-person cabins and 2 VIP cabins, with a line speed of up to 6 meters per second and the capacity to transport 800 passengers per hour.
